Trusted counsel, and a trust litigator
Elizabeth has extensive experience in estate planning and trust and estate administration. Critically, she also has extensive experience litigating trust and estate disputes, including complex trust matters, the real-world, courtroom-tested perspective that lets her design plans built to hold, not just to sell. An active leader in her community, she is a member of San Diego Women Leaders and provides consulting services to other local attorneys. Compassionate and caring, Elizabeth strives to be your attorney for life; protecting your family and your legacy are her highest priorities.
Elizabeth Tresp is a role model, mentor, and community leader. Her peers describe her as thoughtful, proactive, highly competent, and very responsive.
, San Diego Business JournalNationally recognized speaker
Elizabeth is a nationally recognized speaker in finance and investor circles. She appears on podcasts and at in-person events across the country with voices her clients already know, including Peter Schiff, Ken McElroy, Dana Samuelson, Steve Streetman, Mike Maloney, Scott Saunders, and Robert Kiyosaki. The plan she describes on a stage is the same plan she will defend in court. Appearances are collected on the media page.
Attorney & businesswoman
Beyond the practice of law, Elizabeth has achieved exceptional success through commercial and residential real estate investments across the United States, through direct, partnership, and syndicated investments. She also owns or is a partner in several businesses, from professional services to retail and food service. That entrepreneur’s perspective directly informs her asset protection practice: she understands her clients because she lives the same life, and it enables her to design the right domestic or offshore structure for each individual client’s needs.
Faith, philanthropy, and community
For the Tresps, commitment to community goes well beyond financial contributions, and their Christian faith is central to it. Elizabeth serves on the Board of Directors of Santa Fe Christian Schools, volunteers at her church, and volunteers for local service non-profits including Loving The Wise.
Elizabeth and her husband established two 501(c)(3) non-profits: the Tresp Family Arts Foundation, which funds the presentation and perpetuation of performing-arts events, and the Tresp Conservation Trust, through which, an avid naturalist and outdoors enthusiast, she works to acquire land to preserve habitats, protect wildlife, and promote environmental education. She also serves as Vice President of the board of directors at North Coast Repertory Theatre.
Earlier in her career, Elizabeth worked directly with disadvantaged youth through ChildHelp and provided no-cost state and federal tax assistance to dozens of taxpayers through local clinics. She continues to volunteer consistently, classroom volunteering in Solana Beach schools through the Solana Beach Schools Foundation, membership in The Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund and the Lawyers Club of San Diego, and volunteering in and sponsoring Solana Beach youth sports, including the Solana Beach Little League and the Solana Beach Soccer Club.
Achievements & awards
Elizabeth is a highly respected and awarded businesswoman and attorney, well recognized by both her clients and her peers. For six consecutive years she has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
