  • Job Title: High Net-Worth Estate Planning Attorney

    Salary Range : $120,000-$150,000

    Job Description : Since 1992, Tresp, Day, & Associates, Inc. has been the leader in domestic and international estate planning nationwide. Our Solana Beach, California office seeks to add an experienced Estate Planning Attorney with business formation experience to our growing staff. Our office is located in the Cedros Design District, just a short walk from the beach, cafes, and shops.

    Work with successful and entrepreneurial clients from across the nation and abroad, at the forefront of estate planning and asset protection strategies with an exceptional staff in a collegial and family-oriented environment. You will have excellent paralegal support, in-house marketing, top-notch networking, and the best research and drafting tools including the full suite of WestLaw, CEB OnLaw, and WealthCounsel.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

    • Admission to the State Bar of California. Bar admission to WY, NV, FL a plus.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Consult with clients to assess their financial situation, goals, and concerns.

    • Draft trusts and other testamentary documents tailored to the unique needs of high net worth clients.

    • Develop tax-efficient strategies to minimize estate taxes, gift taxes, and other tax liabilities.

    • Advise clients on wealth preservation and asset protection strategies.

    • Advise clients on philanthropic strategies and charitable giving.

    • Draft/create, and advise clients regarding charitable trusts and foundations.

    • Assist clients with the transfer and succession of businesses.

    • Handle real estate matters related to the transfer and management of high-value properties.

    • Oversee the administration of trusts and estates.

    • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to provide comprehensive wealth management services.

    • Conduct legal research and maintain continuing legal education regarding changes in laws, regulations, and public policy.

    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and privacy for clients with sensitive financial information.

    • Supervise and mentor support staff and junior attorneys.

    • Follow firm policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    ● Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification.

    ● Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning and business law.

    ● Strong understanding of estate planning techniques and business formation.

    ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.

    ● Detail-oriented approach to document preparation and review, ensuring accuracy and completeness of legal materials.

    ● Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    ● Assist attorneys in estate and business planning, including the formation of corporations, LLCs, and other business entities.

    ● Prepare and review legal documents related to business formation, such as articles of incorporation, articles of organization, and operating agreements.

    ● Communicate with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals to facilitate the establishment and management of trusts and business entities.

    ● Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients on estate planning and business matters, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise.
